About Concord

Located 20 miles west of Boston, Concord is a picturesque New England community of beautiful residences, preserved open spaces, family-owned farms and thriving commercial centers. Home to some of the greatest literary minds in America, signs of their presence remain to this day. Its quaint and charming town center alongside the town common includes gourmet food shops, restaurants, bookstores and boutiques.

In the 20th century, Concord developed into an affluent Boston suburb and tourist destination, drawing visitors to the Old North Bridge, Orchard House and Walden Pond. The town retains its literary culture and offers many other areas of interests and entertainment.

The town is served by the MBTA commuter rail to Boston, Cambridge and Fitchburg, as well as the commuter bus to Boston. State highway Route 2 runs through Concord, and Routes 128/95 and 495 are conveniently accessed.
